Ants
Ants will spoil a picnic, but they'll also find their way inside your home through the tiniest of openings! The Carpenter Ant, pictured above, gets its name from the way it excavates wood in order to build its nests. Other common ant species include Argentine Ants, Odorous House Ants, Pavement Ants and Red Imported Fire Ants. |
Cockroaches
Cockroaches spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria, six kinds of parasitic worms, and at least seven other kinds of human pathogens! They can pick up germs on the spines of their legs and bodies as they crawl through decaying matter or sewage and then carry these into food or onto food surfaces. Common species include American Cockroaches, Brown-Banded Cockroaches, and the Oriental Cockroach (pictured above). |

Occasional Invaders
Earwigs, Centipedes, Crickets, Millipedes, Silverfish and Stink Bugs (pictured above) are all occasional invaders. Stink Bugs are notorious for its smelly reputation, earned its name from its tendency to release an odor when disturbed or when crushed. |

Spiders
Most spiders, such as the Wolf Spider pictured above, are nuisance pests. Other types, such as the Brown Recluse Spider and the Black Widow Spider, have bites that are harmful to humans and animals. |

Stinging & Biting InsectsStinging and biting insects include ticks, fleas, mosquitos, bees, mites and bed bugs. Bed Bugs are often found in bed parts, such as mattresses and box springs, hence the common name. |
Termites
The Drywood Termites, pictured above, are social insects that infest dry wood and do not require contact with the soil. Other common species include Dampwood Termites, Formosan Termites, and Subterranean Termites. |
